Melody Ellison Review
August 14, 2016
While I do not show them on this website, I am a huge fan of the BeForever line from American Girl®. So I was excited when AG offered a special preorder for their newest historical character, Melody Ellison, from 1960s Detroit.
Melody has the Sonali mold, with brown eyes, black textured hair, and dark skin. Her hair comes in a upward flip, reminiscent of the 1960s. The hair is very soft, and easily brushable with a wire wig brush.
Her outfit features a pale pink/lavender underwear, a blue and yellow hounds-tooth dress, white knee highs and blue flats. Her accessories include a blue hat, matching blue purse, cat eye sunglasses and a civil rights pin. Like Lea Clark, Melody has a zip tie and does not have neck strings.
The Melody doll herself is absolutely adorable. So adorable that she looks great in a variety of outfits. I dressed her up in a lovely dress from Anick's Boutique, as well as some of Maryellen's 1950's outfits, and she rocks in all of them.
I absolutely recommend Melody. She is an adorable doll that represents a significant period of American history. Her hair is easy and manageable, and she looks great in all colors. And even if historically dressing your dolls is not your thing, Melody does look great in modern clothing as well.
